What we’re excited for in 2015: Celebrating a decade of guiding security professionals

December 30, 2014 by Secure360 and UMSA

Secure360 Conference Lighthouse Image

2015 is a big year for the Secure360 Conference; we’re turning 10! Double digits! A full decade! We’ve done a lot in our ten years—we even set a record for conference attendance last year and we think we can top it in 2015! In fact, we expect a lot of exciting things to happen in 2015. We’ve already lined some up.

Keynotes: Protecting critical infrastructure and your identity

Ed Skoudis will be at the conference discussing attackers shifting focus from computers and data to critical infrastructure and related equipment. If these attacks succeed, the impact will be a lot bigger than fallout from stolen data. Skoudis will share information on actual attacks against the power grid, water systems, transportation infrastructure and more.

Best-selling author Frank Abagnale will share insider knowledge of the critically important topic of identity management. Abagnale knows about identity fraud; between the ages of 16 and 21 he successfully posed as an airline pilot, an attorney, a college professor and a pediatrician. He also cashed $2.5 million in fraudulent checks in every state and 26 foreign countries. For over 36 years now he’s been teaching and assisting the federal government in fraud detection. In May, he shares insights with Secure360 conference attendees!

Looking back

In 2009 we joined Twitter @Secure360! We’ve enjoyed interacting with security industry professionals in 140 characters or fewer. Twitter has been a fun tool for helping conference attendees connect with us and with each other. Excited about the 2015 conference, tell us about it using hashtag #Sec360.

In 2012 we started blogging about business continuity, disaster recovery, cloud computing, information security, risk management, cyber security, records management and more! Some of you have helped us out with guest posts, and we love offering a platform for your expertise and ideas about building a stronger security community.

Last year, 2014, we introduced our conference app, providing yet another way to engage with conference attendees and adding in a little adventure and a few give-a-ways! We’ve made some improvement on our app from last year, and can’t wait to share it with you at this year’s conference.

Secure360 offers the security industry the opportunity to network, learn, share ideas and even win prizes. But the best thing we’ve got going for us is you. Thanks to everyone who has helped us grow in these past ten years. Thanks for being part of our adventure! We look forward to seeing you all in May as we celebrate ten years of guiding security professionals!
