Secure360 Twin Cities 2016: That’s a wrap!

May 20, 2016 by Secure360 and UMSA

It was another great year for Secure360 Twin Cities! We had record-breaking numbers at this year’s event, with over 1,500 attendees which included 100 sponsors—we are grateful to all of you who participated!

This year’s highlights

This year, Brian Krebs of KrebsOnSecurity, kicked off our day one keynote examining some of the biggest drivers of computer crime. During his keynote, Krebs stressed the importance of security professionals in the workplace. “There’s no substitute for the human,” he said. Check out the great article written by Star Tribune on the keynote session.

Bryan Strawser helped kicked off day two of Secure360 Twin Cities as the moderator for a panel discussion covering the topics of how government and the private sector work together to plan major events. As Minnesota will host the 2018 Super Bowl and the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four—this topic was timely for our state as well. The panel of local and national experts answered questions about how security has changed over the years and what systems will be put in place to keep these events safe.

MN.IT Services, the State of Minnesota’s information technology agency and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) announced the winners of this year’s Minnesota Kids Safe Online Poster Contest. You can check out the submissions here.

We had over 100 sponsors and 9 of our UMSA affiliates represented on the tradeshow floor, and as always, the Tuesday evening happy hour was a success, with attendees, sponsors and speakers all enjoying drinks and networking together.

What you need to know

Again, we want to thank everyone who participated in this year’s conference! As we continue to see success and growth with the event, here are a few important items you may want to note:

Speaker slides

We will be uploading speaker slides to the Secure360 website starting next week. Please continue to check back to see if your favorite session has been added to the site.

Certificates of Attendance

You can download PDF versions of the Certificates of Attendance here for Tuesday and Wednesday. The 2016 Twin Cities schedule is still available on the Secure360 website. This is a great place to look up sessions you attended if need on your company’s CEU form(s).

Conference Survey

We want your feedback! Please take a moment to take the 2016 Secure360 survey and let us know what you thought and what you’d like to see in 2017. Bonus: Leave your contact information in the survey and be entered to win a $100 Visa gift card! Surveys must be completed by Thursday, May 26.

Want more Secure360?

Join us in Iowa and Wisconsin this September! We are offering a one-time discount on Secure360 Iowa and Secure360 Wisconsin registration now through May 27. If you would like to take advantage of $159 pricing, please contact Nicole Stephany for your special code. This discount is only for 2016 Secure360 Twin Cities attendees and may only be used once.

Secure360 Twin Cities is moving!
