It was another great year for Secure360 Twin Cities! We had record-breaking numbers at this year’s event, with over 1,500 attendees which included 100 sponsors—we are grateful to all of you who participated!
This year’s highlights
This year, Brian Krebs of KrebsOnSecurity, kicked off our day one keynote examining some of the biggest drivers of computer crime. During his keynote, Krebs stressed the importance of security professionals in the workplace. “There’s no substitute for the human,” he said. Check out the great article written by Star Tribune on the keynote session.
Bryan Strawser helped kicked off day two of Secure360 Twin Cities as the moderator for a panel discussion covering the topics of how government and the private sector work together to plan major events. As Minnesota will host the 2018 Super Bowl and the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four—this topic was timely for our state as well. The panel of local and national experts answered questions about how security has changed over the years and what systems will be put in place to keep these events safe.
MN.IT Services, the State of Minnesota’s information technology agency and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) announced the winners of this year’s Minnesota Kids Safe Online Poster Contest. You can check out the submissions here.
We had over 100 sponsors and 9 of our UMSA affiliates represented on the tradeshow floor, and as always, the Tuesday evening happy hour was a success, with attendees, sponsors and speakers all enjoying drinks and networking together.
