Thank you to all the attendees, sponsors, speakers, board and staff members who attended our first annual Secure360 Iowa and Wisconsin! We had a great time networking with attendees and vendors, and the speakers were a hit.
Our favorite moments
Des Moines Channel 13 WHO TV stopped in during our Iowa conference to interview a few of our board members and speakers.
“The cybersecurity industry has developed a new threat, and it’s one you probably wouldn’t expect. It is a lack of workers to fill the positions which are open. ‘We need people, in the Twin Cities we have a negative 16 unemployment rate,’ said Rich Rhodes, President of the Upper Midwest Security Alliance. ‘In Iowa, it isn’t much different and across the U.S.’” They also spoke with Barry Caplin, Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for Fairview Health Services, and Christophe Veltsos, Associate Professor of Risk Management at Minnesota State University—both of whom spoke at the events. Check out the article they wrote on their website here.
We had FBI keynotes kick off each conference, with Special Agent Jacob Foiles covering botnets, ransomware, business email compromise/phishing, espionage and hactivism in Iowa and FBI Special Agent Byron Franz highlighting some of the biggest cyber threats to Wisconsin businesses and individuals and suggesting some possible mitigations.
We also had great turnouts for our two happy hour receptions that took place at the end of each conference. Our Iowa happy hour took place next to the hotel waterfall, and many vendors and attendees stayed to network!

Big thank you to our sponsors!
