Student360 is fast approaching, on Friday, February 22 at 3M Headquarters in St. Paul, MN. All of us at Secure360 and UMSA are excited to show you what we’ve been working on, why we have built this conference to have its best year yet. There are a few things you should know before the big day; use this as your guide to make sure you’re prepared for what we’ve got in store for you at Student360 2019.
Like any conference, there’s a dress code
Dressing to impress is always paramount to getting the most out of your experience. At Student360, you’ll be making first impressions with potential employers, colleagues and thought leaders in the security industry, so note the dress code for this event is business casual.
What to bring to Student360
You will be given a notebook and pen to take notes with, but you may bring either a laptop or tablet if you prefer typing out notes. Lunch and snacks will be provided to you, so there is no need to bring in food. Also, don’t forget to bring plenty of copies of your resume, printed on resume paper (not just printer paper). You will be meeting people who want to see who you are as a potential candidate. Your resume should reflect just that.
What to expect at this security conference
There is free parking available for students attending Student360 at 3M Corporate Headquarters. If you are planning to arrive by bus, check out our transportation page for additional details. After parking, check in with security to get your 3M guest badge, then head downstairs to check in for the event. The day begins with an interview panel of three leading chief information security officers: John Valente of 3M, Judy Hatchett of Fairview Health Services and Tim Crothers of Target. From there, you will have the opportunity to tailor your security conference experience exactly to your liking, with three session tracks to choose from: soft skills, technical skills and career skills. Stay in one track for a focused day or explore new horizons and try something in each track.
Cover the bases of student training opportunities
Aside from learning from top industry speakers at hand-picked sessions, there are plenty of other ways to get the most out of Student360. Be sure to check out the sponsor booths to meet the people who made the conference possible, like 3M and U.S. Bank. Recruiters from these companies will hold interviews throughout the day, so sign up early and be on time! Networking is about making connections – start making them early in your career and thank yourself in the years to come.
