Building Your Personal Brand

“Personal Brand.” Love it or hate it, those words – and the concept – are here to say. So, why should you care, and how does one go about building and maintaining a personal brand? When thinking about the intersection of professional development and personal brand, it’s hard to ignore the impact of the Internet, search engines, and social media. This session will cover how to think about and make use of available online and offline channels, how to make the right connections, and illuminate the topic of personal branding in a way that’s accessible, strategic, and – dare we say? –  fun.

About Nancy Lyons & Meghan Wilker

In 2008, Nancy and Meghan launched the Geek Girls Guide with the mission of making technology accessible and exciting, and to cultivate a culture of empowered online users. Over the last 5 years, they’ve spoken and written about hundreds of topics ranging from interactive project management to social fitness apps to password security. Individually, they mentor, volunteer, and run award-winning projects at Clockwork Active Media. Collectively, they have 35 years of experience, sit on 4 boards of directors, and are dedicated to empowering audiences and demystifying all-things tech.
