Business Continuity – It’s Everyone’s Responsibility

Business Continuity.  It’s not just a term used by auditors and executives.  It’s a term used interchangeably but holds many facets.  And it is the responsibility of everyone.  Untold risks and threats, from cyber to storms, can put you out of business.  Failures by key vendors and utilities can thrust your organization into darkness.  Learn about the risks as well as components of a comprehensive continuity program, with inclusion from critical process owners, c-level executives and technology specialists.  Understand the need to focus on employee awareness, preparedness and support to ensure your business can be continued in the face of adversity.

About Tom Serio

Tom Serio has over 25 years of experience in disaster planning, awareness, crisis management and event response.  On the Business Continuity/Disaster Recover team of Verizon Wireless, Serio leads the company’s outreach program, working with federal, state and local emergency responders, as well as enterprise customers.  He is a member of the Verizon Wireless Crisis Response Team in disaster and community response, as well as enterprise customers.  He is a member of the Verizon Wireless Crisis Response Team in disaster and community response efforts during and post events.  Previously, Serio was Director of Business Continuity Management for Office Depot, responsible for domestic and international corporate recovery plans, incident management, support for small/medium businesses and outreach on awareness and preparedness.  Serio chairs the Palm Beach County (FL) public-private partnership as well as the South Florida Disaster Resiliency Coalition.
