The FBI is the lead federal agency in the United States for investigating cyber attacks and intrusions. They are responsible for collecting and sharing intelligence and engaging with victims while working to unmask those committing malicious cyber activities. SAC Paul will discuss the FBI’s activities and share perspectives from the FBI’s Minneapolis Headquarters. He will also discuss career paths with the FBI, both in cybersecurity and other specialties.
Michael F. Paul, Minneapolis FBI Headquarters Special Agent In-Charge
Paul has been serving as acting special agent in charge since the summer of 2020.
According to a release from the FBI, Paul has served with the bureau since 1994. In 1999, he began working in the Detroit Field office in various positions.
Paul was promoted in 2005 and became a supervisory special agent in the Counterterrorism Division. Two years later, he was named chief of the FBI’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate.
He has also served as the Joint Terrorism Task Force field supervisor for the Cleveland Field Office, assistant special agent in charge for the Norfolk Field Office, chief of the Domestic Terrorism Operations Section and chief of the Technology and Data Innovation Section.
