CISO Panel: “The” Path to Security Leadership

About CISO Panel

John Valente is Chief Information Security Officer for 3M Company, a world-class, science-based company. In this position, Valente ensures continued enterprise-wide information protection services, oversees the business continuity program for information technology (IT) and manages risk and controls environment for IT. Valente also provides input to the overall IT strategy of the 3M Company. He joined 3M in 2014 and has more than 30 years of IT experience in retailing, banking, consumer goods and technology companies including several IT senior management positions at Accenture, Citibank, Dell, Pepsi-Cola and Best Buy. He is a member of the Micro Focus, McAfee and ForcePoint Security Advisory Boards, a member of the CISO Coalition and is on the Corporate Sponsors Committee of the Pacer Center. Originally from Connecticut, Valente is a graduate of Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Tim Crothers is a seasoned security leader with over 20 years’ experience building and running information security programs, large and complex incident response and breach investigations, and threat and vulnerability assessments. He has deep experience in cyber-threat intelligence, reverse engineering, computer forensics, intrusion detection and cyber threat hunting. He is the author/co-author of 16 books to date as well as regular training and speaking engagements at information security conferences around the world.

Judy Hatchett serves as the vice president of information security and CISO of Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, MN. Fairview Health Services is made up of 12 hospitals and medical centers, 55+ specialty clinics, 70+ senior housing locations and over 40 retail pharmacy locations. Fairview employs over 5,000 providers. Hatchette is responsible for ensuring that Fairview Health Services is appropriately managing cybersecurity and information security risk to the organization given its risk tolerance and business objectives. She is also responsible for the FHS HIPAA security program and shared ownership with the FHS Treasury of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) program. She is also an active member of NH-ISAC, the local MN Infragard chapter as well as participating member in DSAC for the healthcare industry.
