Forensic data analytics on structured information (Oracle/SQL databases, mainframe data, etc) is a specialized discipline within forensic technology that can help companies address issues related to the global rise in increasingly sophisticated fraud and white-collar crime. Forensic data analytics professionals have a combination of experience in both e-discovery and data analytics with the skills and resources to understand complex data models and deal with multiple data types. Professionals must understand issues particular to the review of data contained in a structured format (i.e., enterprise financial systems and operational data stores). As with traditional computer forensic analysis on unstructured data, successful structured data e-discovery investigations are comprised of key work steps including identification, preservation, collection, processing, hosting, review, and production of structured data. The course would provide an overview of these key work steps related to structured data.

About Wendy Predescu

Wendy Predescu is a Managing Director in the Forensic Practice of KPMG LLP in the Chicago office. Prior to joining KPMG Forensic, Ms. Predescu worked for a big four firm in both their Global Technology Solutions group and in their Forensic Technology Solutions group. Prior to that she worked for the State of Wisconsin, Legislative Technology Services Bureau. She has experience in conducting computer forensic examinations and has participated on a variety of forensic engagements including litigation support, fraud investigations and anti-money laundering look backs.
