Barry Caplin is the first CISO for Fairview Health Services, responsible for HIPAA-compliant information security, policy and architecture. He has 35 years in technology/security, an MS in applied mathematics from Virginia Tech, and CISSP, ISSMP, CISA, and CISM certifications. Chris Buse is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the State of Minnesota. In this capacity, he is responsible for designing and implementing the enterprise security architecture for state government. Buse served as the manager of information technology audits for the Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor. During his 19 years as an auditor, Chris planned and oversaw information technology audit work done on large government computer systems. He also provided state-of-the-art technology tools and training for audit professionals. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Heather Hanscom is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for SUPERVALU INC. She is accountable for all aspects of information and cybersecurity, including security governance, risk, and compliance, threat and vulnerability management, and security architecture, and integrating security into the business. Prior to SUPERVALU, she was VP of identity, access and security infrastructure management and also previously the head of cybersecurity with Ameriprise Financial. Hanscom graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and holds the CISSP and CISM.

Bryan Strawser is founder & CEO of Bryghtpath LLC, a global strategic advisory firm specializing in global risk, crisis management, business continuity and crisis communications. Strawser started Bryghtpath in 2014 after a 21-year career at Target Corporation where he built and led the retailer’s global crisis management & business continuity function. Under his leadership, Target received numerous awards from FEMA, the International Association of Emergency Managers, and the Business Continuity Institute. In addition to his role at Bryghtpath, Bryan is currently a Humphrey Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
