The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with an understanding of basic network penetration test tools, techniques, and methodologies. The discussion will include topics such as vulnerability identification, leveraging vulnerabilities for system compromise, pivoting to another system, and elevating privileges for full system control. Content has been developed for beginners, but the pace can be influenced by the skill set of the class.
Each student is expected to bring the following:
- His or Her own laptop with a Power Adaptor or sufficient battery for a full day of use
- VMware Player Virtualization software already installed and ready to go
All Virtual images will be provided onsite along with a copy of the presentation slides.
About Andrew Bonstrom & John McLeod
Andrew Bonstrom is a Security Consultant with over 4 years of Information Technology experience with the last 2 conducting a wide range of penetration testing and assessment services for small, medium, and large sized businesses across multiple industries. Andrew has received his Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Offensive Security Wireless Professional (OSWP), and CompTIA: Security+ certifications. Currently, he conducts penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and social engineering services with the FishNet Security – Security Assessments team.
John McLeod is a Senior Security Consultant at FishNet Security with over 10 years of Information Technology experience in the areas of Network Security, PCI, Application, and Penetration testing for small, medium, and large sized businesses across multiple industries. John has received his Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) and Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE) certifications. Currently, he is engaged in vulnerability research on his own time, application and penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment with the FishNet Security – Security Assessments team.
