Understanding the linkages of information security’s past to our present is not only useful, it is essential for rooting ourselves in our industry through time. About Jacob Bernier
Jake Bernier is a penetration tester for a Fortune 500 company where he conducts infrastructure, system, and application based penetration tests. His test results and subject matter expertise are leveraged to assist the company in remediating findings and improving the security posture. Jake’s past experience includes working for a consulting firm providing information security consulting for financial institutions in the Midwest area. He worked on a variety of engagements to include penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, social engineering, and more. He also helped design a cyber security program at a Fortune 50 company while analyzing and providing expertise on the current threat landscape. Jake is also an adjunct faculty member where he has the opportunity to teach students ethical hacking techniques as well as security fundamentals to prepare them for a career in information security.
